On March 4, 1979, in Havana, Cuba, Pedrito Calvo Jr. was born, the son of Pedro Calvo, the great Cuban singer. He has stood out as a singer of the new generation.

He began his musical studies in 1993 at the Guillermo Tomás Elementary School of Music in Guanabacoa, Cuba, studying guitar and later voice.

At the beginning of his career, he sang in various musical groups of both small and large formats at an amateur level, until at age 17 he began singing professionally with “LM Sobredosis,” “La Farándula,” “Charanga Forever,” and for five years with “Pedrito Calvo y La Justicia,” his father’s orchestra, where he also recorded on several of the group’s albums.

His career has grown as he has developed strong stage presence, performing in musicals and shows such as “Paradise Road” and “Mango Tropical Cafe,” as well as various concerts.

Pedrito Calvo Jr. has shared the stage with great Cuban music artists such as Ibrahim Ferrer, Omara Portuondo, Pío Leyva, Los Van Van, Amadito Valdés, Barbarito Torres, among others.

Pedrito Calvo Jr. founded his own orchestra in early 2009, made up of well-known professional musicians from Cuba and Europe. He participated in his first international tour with the orchestra at “Cubamemucho 2009” in Germany, one of the most important festivals in all of Europe.

He has achieved great success and audience acceptance with his music. His latest recordings are included in Latin compilations and are played in venues across Italy, Europe, and Latin America.
